Onefold Stocks is a tracking tool and does not provide investment advice.
Getting started
Onefold Stocks puts all your brokerage accounts in one place. You bring in each account with a CSV file exported from your broker. The app is for tracking only. It can't place trades or move money.
- Open the app. Until you import something, the Dashboard shows No holdings yet.
- Tap Import CSV (or the + button at the top of the screen).
- Choose your broker, pick the file, check the preview, and tap Import.
- Quotes load on their own. Your combined portfolio then shows on the Dashboard.
The bottom bar has five tabs: Dashboard, Portfolio, Calendar, Dividends and Profile. On a wide iPad screen they appear as a side rail.
Get a CSV from your broker
Onefold reads five brokers: Wells Fargo, E*TRADE, Charles Schwab, Interactive Brokers and Fidelity. Each file is a snapshot of positions. When you import it again, the new file replaces that account's old snapshot. You can also read these steps in the app under How to get this file after you pick a broker.
Wells Fargo
You can only do this on the Wells Fargo website (investing.wellsfargo.com), not in the mobile app. Go to Portfolio > Account Download, choose the Excel tab and pick your account. Set Download Type to Portfolio-Expanded Detail and Portfolio View to Positions, then download. Wells Fargo saves an Excel file, so open it and use Save As CSV before you import it.
E*TRADE
On us.etrade.com, go to Accounts > Portfolios > Positions and pick the account. At the top right, next to Refresh and the print icon, click the download icon. It saves a CSV.
Charles Schwab
On client.schwab.com, go to Accounts > Positions and pick the account. At the top right of the positions table, click the download icon (it says Export when you hover). The file starts with "Positions for account". History exports won't import.
Interactive Brokers
In Client Portal, go to Performance & Reports > Flex Queries.
- One-time setup: click + on Activity Flex Query and give it a name. Select the Open Positions section with at least UnderlyingSymbol, AssetClass, Strike, Expiry, Put/Call, Quantity and CostBasisPrice. Set the format to CSV and save.
- Each time: click the run arrow next to your query and download the CSV.
Options rows are skipped, and the import notice lists each one.
Fidelity
On Fidelity.com, go to Accounts & Trade > Portfolio > Positions > Download (CSV). If one file holds several accounts, each account number becomes its own account in Onefold, and only the last 4 digits are kept. Cash and money market rows (symbols ending in **) are skipped.
Importing
- Tap + (Import CSV) and pick your broker.
- Type an Account name, or leave it blank and the app fills one in from the file.
- Under Account, choose New account, or pick an existing account to update it. Updating replaces that account's snapshot.
- Tap Choose CSV and select the file.
- Check the Preview, which shows the number of symbols, the cost basis and each position. Then tap Import (or Update account).
You can have more than one account at the same broker. Only .csv files import. If you pick an Excel file, the app asks you to save it as a CSV first. A Fidelity file with several accounts imports them all together.
Reading the dashboard
- Account menu (at the top): choose Combined or a single account. Every card on the Dashboard follows your choice, and the app remembers it.
- Value, Cost basis and Day P/L. Day P/L compares the current quote with the prior close. Positions without a quote are left out of the day change.
- Value chart for the last 12 months.
- Four movers lists, top 5 each: Top day gainers (by $), Top day losers (by $), Top day gainers (by %) and Top day losers (by %). Each row shows the current share price.
Holdings and cost basis
The Portfolio tab has three sections: Holdings, Transactions and Corporate actions.
- Sort holdings by Share of portfolio, Market value, Day change, Symbol or Unrealized gain/loss.
- In Combined, the same ticker merges across accounts. Tap a row to see it split By account, with current price, avg cost/share, quantity, market value and cost basis, plus each Lot with its cost/share.
- If a cost basis is unknown (for example, $0.00 or blank in a Fidelity file), it shows as "—". It's left out of the cost and gain totals, so it never shows a fake 100% gain.
- A position with no price yet stays in the list and in cost basis, but not in market value.
- Transactions can be searched and filtered (All, Buys, Sells, Dividends). Corporate actions lists splits from the quote source.
Account tabs
Chips at the top of Portfolio switch between Combined and each account. When you pick an account, you see its Statement as of date along with Rename and Remove. Remove asks you to confirm by name and takes that account's positions out of the combined book. A Stale badge on a chip means that account's quotes are out of date.
Quotes and refresh
- While the app is open, prices refresh about every 15 minutes. You can also tap the refresh button or pull down to refresh.
- A quote older than 30 minutes, or a missing quote, shows Quotes stale or Stale. During a refresh you'll see Updating.
- The app also tries a daily update after midnight, but your phone decides when that runs, so it isn't guaranteed.
Dividends and calendar
Dividends shows a donut chart of annual dividend income by holding, with a list underneath. Tap a holding to open its payout details: ex-dividend date, per share, frequency, expected amount and yield. Amounts are your current shares times the declared and estimated dividends over the next 365 days. Estimates are marked Estimated.
Calendar shows dividend income for the next 12 months (Received, Declared and Estimated), with Annual, Monthly, Daily and Yield totals. Below that is a list of upcoming ex-dividend dates. Pay dates aren't available yet.
Profile settings
Appearance can be System, Light or Dark. Biometrics unlock is off by default. When it's on, Face ID, a fingerprint or your device passcode unlocks the app. The Privacy and Terms pages are built into the app.
Privacy and your data
You don't need an account to use Onefold. Your holdings stay on your device, and there's no cloud copy of your portfolio. The app only goes online to fetch quotes for ticker symbols. Removing an account deletes it from the device. See the privacy policy.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
- "Expected a … export" or "No positions were found"
- The file isn't the export this broker's steps describe. Check the steps above, for example Schwab Positions, not History.
- "This is an Excel file"
- Open it and Save As CSV, then import the CSV.
- Only USD statements
- This version reads US-dollar files only.
- My cash or money market didn't import
- Cash rows are skipped for now.
- My options are missing
- Interactive Brokers options are skipped in this version.
- A position shows no value
- It has no quote yet. Tap refresh. It still counts in cost basis.
- I imported the same account twice
- Next time, choose the existing account under Account when importing so it replaces the snapshot. To clean up now, remove the extra account from Portfolio.
- Can Onefold trade?
- No. It's for viewing and tracking only, and it doesn't give investment advice.
